Dear Children, Parents,
Welcome to the start of another great year! Here is a quick note regarding our ideas, changes, improvements, and challenges for the upcoming season. I know finances are always an important topic for people because we all want to know where our money goes. For the registration costs we were able to reduce the costs and eliminate all the late fees for this season. Throughout the year we will continue to monitor how we spend money and will publish more details on our website. As they say, “this is other people’s money” and I take this statement seriously and will do what I can to reduce costs and still achieve our goals.
We have added many programs last year and more are on their way. We had a successful PEE WEE Camp in the summer, the Fall-Ball was a hit and the Simpson Hitting Club is also working out great! This year you will see a winter skills clinic in February. These extra programs will continue to help develop our kids outside of the regular season with more playing time. This year we will also work on a pilot program to send Little League enrolled kids to outside tournaments. Details are still being worked and we will give more information in the future as it’s rolled out.
Our kids will always be our main focus and we will continue to keep them at the top of our list.
A goal we are clear to achieve is to create a place the kids can call home and have a place they can tell their kids where they played. This is why we will continue to improve and add more playing fields for our Little League complex (see more information on the website at a later date). Other things we want to focus on is to improve our umpiring staff and their training and to attempt to have concessions open at all home games with the help of additional volunteers, and find more ways to communicate to our children and parents as to what we want to accomplish. These items and many others not mentioned here will help improve this as a long lasting program.
Lastly, continue to look at our website for updates and an information block called, “from the President’s corner”. Also, if anyone has questions or comments throughout the year, please stop one of us and ask or shoot us an E-mail.
Sincerely,
Mark Coplen
